Consultancy Services
The Department has executed various consultative works for other Departments, autonomous bodies and LSGIs utilizing funds deposited by them. This includes (i) Geographical Information System support for power line mapping under the Total Energy Security Mission, (ii) Digitization of cadastral maps for power line mapping under the Total Energy Security Mission, (iii) Preparation of digital database on suitable sites identified for micro hydel projects, (iv) Preparation of watershed-based master plan for many LSGIs. Government has advised the department to prepare model Land Use Plans on cropping systems perspective for the State with the support of research institutions and socio-economists. Kerala State Land Use Board has been recognized by the State Government as the accredited agency for the preparation of watershed based action plan for Local Self Government Institutions. Kerala State Land Use Board is the nodal/responsible department for Country Planning/ National Land Use Policy of Department of Land Resources, Government of India for creating database to carve out zones especially, industry and urban development.
Presently Department is providing technical support to MGNREGS for bringing all the activities into GIS Platform. Department also prepared Preliminary Project Reports (PPR) and Detailed Project Report (DPR) for New Generation Watershed Projects implemented by State Level Nodal Agency under Commissionerate of Rural Development. Department has prepared the Water Resources Management Plan and is extending technical support for the Jalasamrudhi project in Kattakada Legislative Assembly Constituency. Department takes the lead role in preparing the Detailed Project Reports for the Vamanapuram River Rejuvenation Project, Sustainable Thrithala Project, etc. Department is providing technical assistance for the Neerurav project implemented by MGNREGS. The department is providing technical support for GIS based Land Resources Web Portal for Kottarakara LAC in Kollam district.
