Training /Awareness  Programme

Ensuring the availability of information regarding natural resources to the state and district machinery is essential for LSGIs for efficient planning and decision making. Many of the natural resources are subjects dealt at state level  and availability of a platform at state level for co-ordinating the natural resources management activities is becoming relevant at present. Awareness programmes help in co-ordinating, guiding and planning the various activities for natural resources management at different levels.  The multi tier awareness programmes will also help in the effective implementation of developmental activities using GIS databases, remote sensing, modelling etc.

Kerala State Land Use Board has generated voluminous database on land & water resources which includes Natural Resources & Environmental database(NREDB) in  1:12500 scale, Watershed Atlas on  1: 50000 scale, Waste Lands on 1:50000 scale, Status of Wet Land on 1: 12500 scale and Panchayath Resource Maps on 1:5000 scale.  The above data will help line departments and LSGIs in planning and implementing various projects. For this the users are to be made aware and trained about the utility of resource and thematic maps/data.

The following   programmes are earmarked to be implemented under Training & Awareness Generation  component during 2016-17
